Score Group is devoted to promoting engineering to young people as a future career path and actively engaging with primary and secondary schools whenever given the opportunity. This is done through a variety of methods including school visits, talks, engineering fun days and interactive tours at our facilities.
Score Cowdenbeath was pleased to welcome Alex Rowley MSP (Member of the Scottish Parliament) for Cowdenbeath along with Marguerite Adam, Contract Manager (Modern Apprenticeships) SDS (Skills Development Scotland). This visit coincided with the SDS annual Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2016 which ran from 29th February to 4th March. During the visit, they received an extensive tour of the Score Europe Cowdenbeath facility including general workshop, specialised enhanced testing workshops, training areas and offices and throughout the visit had the chance to speak to a number of apprentices as well as supervisors based at the location.
Score Group plc was delighted today to host a delegation from the Royal Navy at a presentation that took place in front of 180 Mechanical Engineering apprentices in Peterhead.
On Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th February, Armed Forces 106 Battalion REME (Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers) took over Admiralty Gateway, Peterhead to run “Exercise Score.”

Peterhead-based engineering firm Score Group plc has become the first big employer in the region to sign the Armed Forces Covenant to seal a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Defence.
Ruth Davidson Scottish Conservative Party Leader, along with Alex Johnstone MSP and candidate for the Banff and Buchan constituency paid a visit to Score Group on Tuesday 21st April. They took time out from their busy campaign schedule to primarily speak to over 250 of Score’s engineering and administration apprentices and trainees at a specially arranged mid week lecture.
Step Change in Safety was recently invited by Score Group plc to its head office in Peterhead Scotland to address its apprentice group, an invitation they gladly accepted. Therefore on Friday 10th April, Gillian Simpson and Emily Taylor both Project Co-ordinators with Step Change gave a presentation at one of our regular apprentice lectures on the role of Step Change in the Oil & Gas and Offshore industry.
Score was delighted to welcome Mrs Alison McInnes, MSP, to the company’s Group Headquarters in Peterhead on Friday 4th July. Mrs McInnes was accompanied by Neil Michie, External Affairs Officer Oil & Gas UK, Ethan Clark Oil & Gas UK Intern and Jessie Mathieson Constituency Office Assistant. The welcome party from Score, headed by Conrad Ritchie, Deputy Managing Director of Score Europe, included Barrie Strachan Deputy Works Manager Score Europe, Albert Ogston Operations Director Score Training, and Fiona Johnston and Carol-Ann Westland Apprentice Co-ordinator and Deputy Co-ordinator, respectively.
