Yesterday, 16 of Scotland’s top mechanical and electrical engineering apprentices battled it out at Tullos Training in Aberdeen to win one of two coveted titles at the annual Scottish Engineering Craft Competition. Two of these apprentices were employees of Score Group plc.
A soft opening of Crimond’s new medical centre took place with the unveiling of a plaque on 14th April, Good Friday. With the final stages of fixture and fitting complete, the medical Centre and Community Hub is expected to open to the public within the next 2 months.
Our 5th Annual Apprenticeship Information Evening was held on Thursday 23rd March. Score Group plc this year teamed up with Peterhead Engineers Development Limited (PEDL) to hold a joint event. The Score event was held at Admiralty Gateway, whilst PEDL opened its doors at Wellbank Business Park.

Score Group plc was delighted to host a visit for Institute of Directors (IoD) Aberdeen to their premises in Peterhead on 28th April 2016. The company welcomed more than 50 company Directors from the North East of Scotland to its conference centre located within Score Energy Limited headquarters, the Ian M Cheyne Building. Upon arrival and following a short networking session, all delegates were treated to an informed tour of Score Energy’s facilities which included its industrial gas turbine, and fuel nozzle and accessories divisions.
Peterhead-based engineering firm Score Group plc has become the first big employer in the region to sign the Armed Forces Covenant to seal a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Defence.
Scottish Apprenticeship Week this year ran from 18th to 22nd May and as part of this, Peterhead Engineers Development Limited (PEDL) hosted an open evening on the 21st of May. PEDL provide Score’s 1st year engineering apprentices and administration trainees with the first steps to their careers and as such, Score Group plc was delighted to support and be engaged in this event. Step Change in Safety was recently invited by Score Group plc to its head office in Peterhead Scotland to address its apprentice group, an invitation they gladly accepted. Therefore on Friday 10th April, Gillian Simpson and Emily Taylor both Project Co-ordinators with Step Change gave a presentation at one of our regular apprentice lectures on the role of Step Change in the Oil & Gas and Offshore industry.
Mark Hunt, the 129th President of the IMechE paid a visit to Score Group plc on Thursday 26th March to present a number of Score’s senior apprentices with highly-valued EngTech certificates and to present a member of the Score engineering team with his CEng certificate. The presentation was performed at a lecture in the presence of Score’s 4th, 5th and 6th year apprentices who were joined by directors of the Score Europe board, the apprentice Training Team and also the Chairman of Score Group, Charles Ritchie.
