Score Cowdenbeath was pleased to welcome Alex Rowley MSP (Member of the Scottish Parliament) for Cowdenbeath along with Marguerite Adam, Contract Manager (Modern Apprenticeships) SDS (Skills Development Scotland). This visit coincided with the SDS annual Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2016 which ran from 29th February to 4th March. During the visit, they received an extensive tour of the Score Europe Cowdenbeath facility including general workshop, specialised enhanced testing workshops, training areas and offices and throughout the visit had the chance to speak to a number of apprentices as well as supervisors based at the location.
MP Alex Rowley was very impressed with the facility, people and company. Accompanied throughout the visit by MD of Score Europe, Works Manager and Apprentice Coordinator, Mr Rowley said it was nice to see a company put so much into their apprenticeship scheme. He also said he was delighted to have a company in his own constituency with such a good name with the local colleges and dedicated to the local area. Ms Adams confirmed saying that Score had one of the best records for their apprenticeship program and college work over the last 5 years.
They thanked their hosts for the visit and added that it had been most informative and interesting and wished the best of success for the future. Mr Rowley followed this up by giving a statement to the local press the following week which was very complementary towards the Score Europe Cowdenbeath workforce.
Score is firmly committed to supporting its apprenticeship programme not only in the UK but has expanded to its other global sites and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
