Score’s STEM Ambassadors Inspire Future Engineers

Score Group is devoted to promoting engineering to young people as a future career path and actively engaging with primary and secondary schools whenever given the opportunity.  This is done through a variety of methods including school visits, talks, engineering fun days and interactive tours at our facilities.

A group of our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Ambassadors, comprising of senior apprentices, were recently invited to a local primary school in Peterhead.  Clerkhill School’s primary seven pupils are involved in the Primary Engineering Challenge.  During the visit, the P7’s interviewed the group from Score Europe and answered questions in relation to their jobs and the engineering sector.

Our ambassadors have also assisted the school’s Science Club helping them to complete the Young Engineers and Science Club Challenge.  Their science club is completing a challenge to construct a working crane, involving a pulley system, which can lift and move bottles of water within a designated area.

Dianne Pressley of Clerkhill School recently sent a letter to Score Europe’s Apprentice Co-ordinator thanking Score’s STEM Ambassadors for their time and support and also to the company for their continued support and engagement which is inspiring the engineers of the future.  We would like to thank Mrs Pressley for her encouraging letter of thanks.

Score is delighted to be involved with these types of projects and would encourage any school to get in contact if they would like us to participate.  We are looking forward to the Clerkhill primary seven class visiting us at our headquarters in Peterhead and also wish them every success with their Engineering Challenge.
