Score Energy has been approved as an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC). This was awarded and became effective as of 2nd May 2017.
As detailed on www.gov.uk, ‘AEO status is an internationally recognised quality mark indicating that your role in the international supply chain is secure, and that your customs controls and procedures are efficient and compliant. It isn’t mandatory, but it gives quicker access to certain simplified customs procedures and in some cases the right to ‘fast-track’ your shipments through some customs, safety and security procedures. You can apply for AEO status for customs simplification (AEOC), AEO status for security and safety (AEOS) or both. If you hold AEOC status, you could benefit from a faster application process for customs simplifications and authorisations, and also reductions or waivers of comprehensive guarantees’.
This brings with it a number of changes within Score Energy, especially in security arrangements within Shed 1 at Wellbank which has already been corresponded and discussed with all Score Energy staff. In addition, VITAL modules have been created which are essential for Score Energy staff and will also become mandatory for all staff based in shed 1. In addition they will be available for all to view on the VITAL system.
This approval is a major achievement for the Score Energy business and is one which they are to be commended and congratulated in receiving. As stated, specific security changes are now in place with others in development that may affect staff who are not primarily based at this site and will also have implications for any visitors or visiting groups to shed 1.
