Apprentice Painter Blaster

About the role

As an Apprentice Painter Blaster you will be expected to develop your skills and knowledge in the department to ensure you build technical competency in the role to fulfil the workscopes required by our clients and your team leader. This will consist in following all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality rules and procedures. Becoming familiar with and safely operating the various tools and equipment necessary to carry out the preparation, blasting, primer, colour, and top coating of a wide variety of engineering components and products. You will be trained in a variety of processes including banksman slinging and overhead gantry crane operation, use of the tools, preparation equipment, hand and cabinet blaster, spray equipment, measuring equipment and curing ovens. Role will involve selection of shot, primer and paint to meet specification, ability to mask off correctly, and handle equipment with care

 

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions
  • Follow written and verbal instructions given by your team leader/supervisor
  • Be familiar with and safely operate all preparation and blasting equipment
  • Be familiar with and safely operate all paint spraying equipment
  • Be familiar with and safely operate all paint storage and disposal facilities
  • Be familiar with and safely carry out all product handling equipment.
  • Be familiar with and carry out safe packaging of product for safe transportation
  • Write Technical Logs to the correct standard as required to demonstrate your knowledge development
  • Ensure you develop suitably over the course of the apprenticeship and meet the training objectives set for each stage

Minimum of National 4 Maths and practical subjects
