Apprenticeship – Warehouse and Logistics

You will be supported to develop your skills and knowledge on a wide variety of warehousing and logistics operations and technologies.
Overview
- Apprenticeship duration: 3 years
- When the apprentice is ready (normally between years 1 and 2), they will undertake an SVQ
This career is well-suited to those with good organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow verbal and written instructions. The role offers an excellent alternative to a technical apprenticeship, whilst still working in a technical environment
Typical responsibilities
Stores receipts, handling goods in/out, stores issues, warehouse storage and racking, forklift/reach truck operations, and using computer-based systems to monitor and control stock levels. Over time, you will be given opportunities to take responsibility for specific areas of our logistics operations
Entry requirements
Our preferred applicants will hold the following qualifications:
- National 4 or equivalent in Mathematics and English
- National 4 or equivalent in one of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Graphical Communications
- Applicants will also require a practical qualification at National 5 or equivalent in Woodwork, Metalwork, Craft and Design, or a relevant Skills for Work qualification
An applicant with a Foundation Apprenticeship in Construction or Business Skills will have deemed to meet all the above criteria.
Demonstrable experience in taking responsibility, being organised and following verbal and written instructions would be considered an advantage.
