Auxiliaries Technician(Gas Turbines – Peterhead)
This is a great opportunity for an individual with previous mechanical and technician experience to further their career. They would join a high performing team that prides themselves on delivering quality products and services in line with the company, client, and quality expectations
- Overhaul, test and recertification of various products processed within the Auxiliaries Department (Actuators, shut off valves, metering valves, hydraulic controllers, variable geometry controllers etc.)
- Provide core competence in use of all torque and tensioning equipment.
- Provide technical support to all members of the department / team.
- Ensure all workshop equipment and tooling are maintained regularly and all records are kept up to date.
- Responsible for the general house-keeping within and surrounding the department.
- Participate in shift rotas as and when required.
- Support other workshops where priority dictates.
- Participate in risk assessments / toolbox talks / the vital system.
- Maintain a safe working environment to avoid risks to self and others.
- Proactively participate and encourage others to participate in all company / client HSEQ initiatives (start cards and aim cards etc).
- Positive approach to continual improvement and development of the department.
- Keenness to support and develop others.
- Participate in all accident / incident investigations and reporting as required.
- Ensure QA job cards are completed to the required standards; also carry out the checking of QA cards at the Team Leaders / Deputy Team Leaders request.
- Ensure all equipment used is within the required calibration date.
- Assist to minimise all department non-conformances.
- SVQ Level 3 in relevant technical discipline.
- Completed an engineering apprenticeship (preferred)
- Be fully competent working alone on all valve and actuator types.
- Demonstrable workshop/technician experience within a valve workshop environment.
- Experience of working autonomously and experience of leading a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Honest & Reliable.
- Ability to work well in team as well and to take own initiative.
- Commitment to continual improvement and a flexible approach to change.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and committed to delivering HSEQ excellence.
