B Pressure Welder
About the role
At an exciting time to join Score’s Edmonton, Alberta team, we are looking for a Welder to support in the workshop. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your welding and valve experience and knowledge with a global company, reporting to the workshop manager.

- Competent to carry out a varied range of welding tasks which covers the majority of requirements for the business using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to undertake work-on pressure equipment and fuse metal pieces using processes such as but not limited to;
- Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW / TIG).
- Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW / MIG).
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
- Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements and associated WPS.
- Understanding of P number material groups as per ASME lX.
- Responsible for their safety and the safety of others around them.
- Report any plant/equipment damage.
- Ensure that health, safety, environmental, quality and general housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
- Ensure QA cards and welding logs are filled in correctly.
- Any other reasonable duties required to meet the requirements of the business.
- Responsible for the safety of all workshop personnel.
- Ensure the correct PPE is worn at all times.
- Proactively participate and encourage others to participate in all company / client HSEQ initiatives (Safety Intervention Card).
- Endorse continual improvement and development of others.
- Participate in all accident / incident investigations and HSE reporting as required.
- Ensure all equipment used is within the required calibration date.
- Assist to minimize all department Non-conformances.
- Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standard of quality at all times.
- Participate in toolbox talks/risk assessments.
- Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business

- Minimum of 3 years related experience.
- Relevant welding certification – Grade B Pressure Welder Certificate of Competency.
- Proven experience as a welder, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Experience with different welding techniques and materials.
- Proven experience as a welder, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with operating power tools and machinery related to metal fabrication.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Be fully competent to carry out all welding tasks.
- Red Seal Journeyman.
- Weld repair build ups primarily with Chrome Moly Alloys.
- Corrosion resistant overlays.
- Stellite hard facing.
- Flux Core experience.
- Additional certifications in safety and quality control an asset.
