Engineering Team Leader (Newfoundland)
About the role
At an exciting time to join the Score Group team based at our facility in Paradise, Newfoundland, Canada. We are seeking a proactive Engineering Team Leader to support activities. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, Americas, the Engineering Team Leader will ensure seamless operations and uphold our high standards across all facets of our workshop activities.
We are looking for an Engineering Team Leader to take on responsibility for the completion of Engineering and Project Coordination related work for Score (Canada) Ltd. This role will be to overseeing day to day activities within the engineering department, training and development of team members, and providing technical support to sales and workshop functions within the business.

- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions.
- Supervision of staff in all aspects of engineering.
- Oversee planning and execution of work within the department.
- Contribute towards continual improvement and operational excellence.
- Monitor and take action on departmental KPIs.
- Compile and review CTR/Quotes and manage job costs.
- Oversee valve design reviews.
- Client specification reviews, including technical bid evaluations.
- Experience in dimensional sizing of components.
- Ability to conduct, check and approve design calculations in accordance with industry standards.
- Ability to check and approve engineering/machining drawings.
- Ability to check and approve Valve & Actuator sizing calculations.
- The candidate should have an excellent level of general knowledge in welding, materials and NDE.
- Ability to conduct and check valve failure analysis reports and work instructions.
- Work in indoor office environment 90% of the time.
- Workshop environment 10% of the time.
- Some travel required.
- Effective communication skills.
- Previous experience and a high level of knowledge in Valves & Actuation is essential.
- Knowledge and understanding of Valve and Pressure Vessel Industry Standards.
- Good understanding of stress analysis and fluid dynamics, and ideally have a working knowledge of CAD, 3D modelling, Finite Element Analysis and Mathcad software.
- Previous practical experience in product development/design of pressure retaining oil related equipment shall be required.
- Ability to work independently as well as a team player and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with problem-solving aptitude.

- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering work to a high standard of quality.
- Engineering Degree or diploma from college or university and/or have a demonstrated track record of serving in an engineering or projects environment.
- The successful candidate will be required to register for a Professional Engineering (P. Eng) License within Newfoundland, Canada, with PEGNL.
