QC Inspector (Peterhead)
We’re currently looking for a Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join the Score Group team based at our facility in Peterhead.
About the role
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for the inspection and recertification of repaired and modified equipment as per customer purchase order requirements.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions
- Identify Customer specific requirements, Pressure Test Specifications (Customer and Industry Standards)
- Liaising with Production TL’s every morning to discuss daily priorities
- Carry Out Final Inspection Checklists and palletisation of valves
- Knowledge of material specifications for valve constructions
- Compilation of QA card testing details from information received from the client job file review and client data sheets. Includes industry standards knowledge and manufacturer type specific details
- Compile Pressure test procedures for specific valve types
- Compile Inspection and Test Plans
- Compile Valve overhaul reports and Test certificates for all types of Valves
- Compile Engineering Reports for Operators
- Compile Valve Certification Packages for repaired /modified valves ensuring full traceability of all spares fitted enclosed in package (Purchase Order Certification/ NDT reports /Welders Quals etc)
- Verify all related paperwork produced for the repair is acceptable ( Pressures test charts/ NDT reports / PWHT charts & reports / coating reports / Paint Reports)
- Liaising with Production Team to ensure Production Targets are met
- Ensuring Customer Specific Requirements are met during final inspection
- Liaising with Production Dept TL’s when valves do not conform to Score Quality standards and recording discrepancies when they fail to meet the standards.
- Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
All of the below are desirable but not necessarily essential:
- HNC Mechanical Engineering
- SVQ Level 3 in Technical Support (Quality Control)
- Internal Auditor Course ISO9001 and/or AS9100
- Strong knowledge of management system standards ISO9001 & AS9100 (desirable)
- Experience in the use of measuring equipment (desirable)
- Familiar with pressure / flow measurement testing (desirable)
- Computer literate (essential)
- Previous experience in mechanical inspection
- Previous experience working in a role within a Quality department
- Previous experience working in a role handling technical information e.g mechanical fitter, machinist, welder, NDT technician, draughtsman
- Excellent communications skills
- Ability to work well as a team member and to take own initiative when liaising with other departments within the business
- Requires ability to interpret work processes and job histories and make informed judgements
- Must be able to work on your own following training
- Have excellent IT skills (primarily Microsoft Office Packages)
