Semi Skilled Labourer – Nightshift (Gas Turbines – Peterhead)

Semi Skilled Labourer: Supporting our Gas Turbines team with general labouring duties

The semi-skilled labourer will be responsible for carrying out general ad-hoc duties within our Gas Turbines division. This varied role will require assisting most of the departments by carrying out basic machining and technical duties. They will also be expected to support the workshop technicians in the workshop and ensuring they have everything they need to carry out their duties.

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions.
  • Collecting material from stores; ensuring all job packs are stamped/checked.
  • Cutting bar for Sprint
  • Emptying of skips
  • Coolant checks and top
  • Cleaning of components (post machining/prior to inspection)
  • Ultrasonic Cleaning of DLE Shrouds; Swirlers prior to flow test
  • Feed each machine with material; job pack
  • Transporting components to and from NDT and QC
  • Deburring of DLE Housing
  • Rumbling of SAC Shrouds:
  • Gas Bodies
  • Laser Etching;
  • XRF
  • Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
  • Demonstrable experience in a labouring type role in a workshop environment
  • Previous Experience of shot blasting would be advantageous however training will be provided
  • Full and clean UK driving licenc
  • Have effective communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of shot blasting
  • Good organisational skills
  • Have a positive approach towards all scopes of work and be flexible to change
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standard of quality at all times
