Special Process Technical Authority(Gas Turbines – Peterhead)

The Special Process Technical Authority is a subject matter expert who is responsible for the continual improvement of quality & FPY, training and volume optimization in the Execution Special Process departments.

  • Accountable for ensuring the Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and general housekeeping standards of all Score Energy weld team members are maintained to a high level
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions
  • Responsible for the training and development of Weld Personnel.
  • Sharing knowledge and guiding the whole team to ensure we achieve AS and NADCAP standards.
  • Ownership for the KPI / Targets and Measures for the Special Process Technical Authority role. In addition, compliance in accordance with GE 558, AS and ISO requirements. Examples are but not limited to:
    • Weld Efficiency
    • Weld & Braze FPY
    • Weld & Braze Cost of Quality
    • Weld Competency
    • Legacy product TAT improvement i.e. RB211, Avon, Olympus burners
  • Responsible for collating KPI performance output to communicate to the Weld Team Leader, Operations Execution Manager and Managing Director
  • Provide Pro-active Leadership on continuous improvement exercises and endeavour to improve efficiency and profitability within Execution Special Process Departments i.e., role model for continuous improvement to reduce cost, margin expansion and improve sustainable quality, flow and throughput
  • Consulted and involved in the investigation and close out of all special process related Root Cause Analysis, Customer Complaints or internal non-conformances and the implementation of any preventative measures resulting from the subsequent investigations
  • Create, manage and monitor a training development plan for TIG Welding.
  • Provide Technical support to all Execution Special Process Departments, either through own involvement or through acquisition of suitably qualified technical support
  • Provide assistance with WIP as and when required
  • Deal with any personnel issues, including conducting investigation meetings, grievance meetings and disciplinary meetings where necessary
  • Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
  • Health and Safety Responsibilities
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent in relevant discipline).
  • Supervisory Training.
  • Commercial awareness Training.
  • Previous supervisory experience in an Engineering environment.
  • Good Knowledge of Special Processes within the Aero-Derivative Gas Turbines industry.
