Technical Sales Representative – External
The Technical Sales Representative – External will be working closely with the Business Development Manager, responsible for execution and achievement of established financial goals, accountable for the sales development and growth of potential business opportunities.
Business Development and Projects
- Autonomous, external customer facing role developing visit plans / visit reports and sales strategies for the responsible region.
- Identify potential business opportunities and develop action plans to penetrate new markets and customers.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with existing and potential customers and clients.
- External promotion of organisation’s valve supply / repair services by conducting technical and commercial presentations / proposals.
- Work with the Business Development Manager to develop strategic business plans, assist with proposals, contract research and negotiation, and implementation of sales strategies to achieve sales growth.
- Research and develop information on new projects.
- Represent organisation and attend various Client meetings.
Technical Sales
- Interfacing with Technical Authority and Asset Focal Points for resolution of any technical queries.
- Interface with Asset on behalf of Focal Point if required.
- Supplier / channel partner engagement.
Tender Preparation and Management
- Assist with bidding processes.
- Attending pre-bid meetings, working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Review the tender submission, contractual and specifications requirements.
- Negotiating with customers, contractors or subcontractors, contracts and prices during the bid.
- Review and assist with tender submission, to ensure that organisation presents the most competitive bid possible.
- Assist in compiling information to complete the bid/tender preparation in time, including required internal approvals.
- Accredited Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Economics or Bachelor of Marketing or;
equivalent combination of Education and Work experience that provides the knowledge and necessary to perform the work.
- Valve based knowledge of the Oil & Gas, manufacturing, other sectors of the valve industry (not essential).
- Work-specific experience required in market analysis is desirable within the Asia Pacific market.
- Proven team player with leadership skills including the ability to coach and energise others.
- Critical thinking and good analytical skills.
- Hands-on approach and proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Strong IT literacy; Microsoft Excel in particular.
- Commitment to continual improvement and a flexible approach to change.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering HSEQ excellence.
