TIG Welder (Gas Turbines – Peterhead)
We are seeking an experienced TIG welder to join our fuel nozzle and accessories welding department within Score Energy.
The welder will be responsible for carrying out all work giving to him / her by his supervisor to the highest possible standard. They will also be first point of contact for any problems that the apprentices in their respective workshops may have.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions
- Carry out all welding activities on Various types of fuel nozzles, pipes, and fabrication work.
- Carry out Pressure Testing at Various stages on Fuel nozzles after Weld.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving of all welding issues.
- Provide core competence in use of welding equipment.
- Execution of risk assessments and hazard assessments (Start Cards) on all related work scopes.
- Participating in any risk assessments / toolbox talks.
- Provide technical support to all welding workshop teams.
- Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team
- Plan and coordinate any project work as and when required
- Ensure all workshop equipment and tooling are maintained regularly and all records kept up to date.
- Responsible for the general housekeeping within and surrounding the department.
- Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
- SVQ level 3 / HNC Welding Certificates preferred.
- Completed a welding apprenticeship. (With TIG Welding & Orbital Experience)
- Demonstrable workshop / Welder experience within a welding workshop environment.
- Be fully competent working alone on all welding activities.
- Effective communication skills.
- Honest & reliable.
- Ability to work well in a team as well as your own initiative.
- Commitment to continual improvement and a flexible approach to change.
