CNC Tube Bending & Forming Trainee (Gas Turbines – Peterhead)
About the Role
The CNC Tube Bending & Forming Trainee will become a multi skilled member of the team responsible for manufacturing aerospace grade tube assemblies.
This role will have dayshift as well as nightshift work patterns.
The successful candidate would have the opportunity to be trained across multiple disciplines to become a CNC Tube Bending & Forming Technician.
During training the successful candidate would assist with the production of tube assemblies while learning how to read technical drawings, assemble tubes from component level through to finished assemblies, carry out in process inspection, operate state of the art CNC tube, electrochemical cutting, bending & forming machinery, performing the agreed tasks to meet targets, criteria and deadlines.
There may also be the opportunity for the right candidate to train in machining operations on traditional and CNC machine-centres.
- Learn how to safely and correctly operate CNC bending, forming, electrochemical cutting machines.
- Learn how to assemble tubes from piece parts through to finished components.
- Learn how to operate Manual & CNC Machines (personnel dependant)
- Learn how to carry out in process / final inspection using precision measuring equipment such as micrometer, dial calliper and go/no go fixtures.
- Learn how to set up of various CNC machines for production
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions.
- Sign and Date Completed Route Card Operations
- Participate in Toolbox Talks/Risk Assessments.
- Ensure personal competency records are kept up to date.
- Responsible for ensuring that Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and general housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
- Maintain good working relationships with other team members.
- Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
- Mechanical Apprenticeship (or equivalent) preferred
- Workshop experience preferred
- Effective communication skills
- Honest and reliable
- Self-motivated & Enthusiastic
- Ability to work well in a team and to take own initiative.
- Willing to undertake training to improve competence levels in support of departmental activities
- Willing to become involved with improvement teams and activities
- Good Problem solving and Analytical behaviour preferred
