Apprentice Fitter and Machinist (Australia)

Overview

  • Apprenticeship duration: 4 years
  • You will attend a partner technical college (typically in 2-3 week blocks throughout the apprenticeship). The technical college attended will depend on the state in Australia you undertake your apprenticeship.
  • The remainder of your training will be facilitated by experienced technicians within our workshops

Qualifications you will work towards

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining).

Typical responsibilities

The disassembly, repair, reassembly and testing of valves and associated equipment, compliance with QA procedures and completion of QA cards, fault finding and problem solving, pressure testing, and assessing risks for the tasks undertaken. You will comply with safety policies and procedures and will also complete online training modules, logs and competency books, and pass the relevant course subjects at TAFE.

Entry requirements

 Our preferred applicants will have a minimum of:

  • Australian Certificate of Education (as per state) or equivalent. This is preferred, but not essential.

Applications with a pre-apprenticeship or work experience in a similar industry will also be considered.

Selection process

Applicants will be required to submit a CV and a cover letter expressing their interest in an apprenticeship with Score Australasia. A shortlist of applicants will be determined for interview with our operational leadership team.

You will be required to complete an aptitude test to gauge your mathematic capability.

Successful applicants will be required to provide employment references and/or character references and evidence of your right to work in Australia.

A second interview maybe also be required, and successful applicants will be asked to attend a  pre-employment medical.
