Graduate Apprenticeship: Accounting (Peterhead, Scotland)
Overview
- Graduate Apprenticeship duration: 5 years
- The majority of your time will be spent working in the Accounts department at our global headquarters, with attendance at university for 4-8 days per academic year
- You will be allocated a mentor within the company

Experience and skills you will gain/Typical responsibilities
You will be work through placements in various Score accounting functions to suit your training while building knowledge of Score’s accounting services and undertaking tasks and projects within your abilities. You will become skilled to undertake the analysis of financial and management accounting, corporate and business law, tax, audit, and assurance processes.
Year 1
Developing knowledge and understanding of Management context and the Business Environment as well as engaging with core accounting and finance topics.
Year 2
Widening knowledge of and developing analysis skills within financial and management accounting. Developing knowledge of key areas of Corporate and Business Law relevant to accounting. Understanding and application of the impact of digital business on accounting.
Year 3
Applying knowledge and demonstrating critical analysis skills within core accounting areas such as Management Accounting, Tax and Audit and Assurance.
Year 4
ICAS Route: Critical analysis of contemporary accounting issues and advanced financial management. Study for the ICAS Test of Professional Skills exams – Financial Reporting, Assurance and Data and Risk and Technology.
ACCA Route: Advanced Study of Financial Management and critical appraisal of the role of Innovation in business. Study for the ACCA Exam – Strategic Business Reporting.
Year 5
ICAS Route: Study for the ICAS Test of Professional Skills exams – Business Taxation and Strategic Finance and Modelling. Study for the Test of Professional Expertise Case Study exam.
ACCA Route: Study for the ACCA Exams – Advanced Performance Management, Audit and Assurance; Advanced Financial Management, Taxation.
Study for the Strategic Business Leader – Case Study

Entry Requirements
Our preferred applicants will hold a minimum of:
- 4 x B at Higher including English and a Business Studies, Accounting or other business-related subject
- HNC in a business or accounting discipline
Selection Process
As part of the selection process applicants that meet the above entry requirements will be invited to undertake an aptitude test. Successful applicants will then be taken forward to the next stage of the selection process.
