Tell us about your role with Score
I’m the Global Operations Lead at Score, with a focus on our emissions business. My role involves providing technical support, coaching and guidance for our teams across our global business units. I am responsible for the development of our competency frameworks, associated training and operating standards and procedures for emission elimination. I serve as the subject matter expert for reliability and condition monitoring applications and equipment. I also work closely with our marketing team to develop emissions-related collateral to support different business development initiatives.
A significant part of my job involves coaching and developing our regional sales teams, interfacing with clients and working with our collaborators to grow our emissions business. I travel frequently to visit our global facilities and attend and present at various conferences and exhibitions to promote our emissions and sustainability solutions.
Can you describe your industry experience?
I’ve been in the energy industry for approximately 15 years and my background is in reliability and condition monitoring. My passion for emissions reduction began early in my career when I was introduced to condition monitoring and the various types of survey equipment used for preventative maintenance. I was an early adopter of optical gas imaging technology and prior to joining Score, I had my own reliability engineering business in Peterhead. I joined the Score team to help develop the emissions side of the business, having been inspired by the wider capabilities and global footprint that Score has to offer, in terms of a full solution for emissions reduction.
Throughout my career, I’ve developed my expertise in reliability and condition monitoring, earning a degree in non-destructive testing, and wider qualifications in ultrasound, thermography, and optical gas imaging. I am most proud of obtaining my Cat 3 Thermographer qualification, obtained through both the ITC (Infrared Training Centre) and BINDT (British Institute for Non-Destructive Testing) accredited training routes, achieving the highest obtainable level of certification for the application. I am currently in the process of becoming a chartered engineer.
I enjoy developing new solutions for our customers, helping them reduce emissions on their assets and overcome complex reliability challenges. I support our commitment to engineering out different problems for our customers.

What trends do you see in the industry?
The growing focus on emissions elimination is driving significant change. Today, operators are more aware of the importance of reducing their emissions footprint than ever. They’re seeking solutions to meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations and challenging decarbonisation goals. Currently, all industries are focused on greenhouse gas reduction and are adopting various frameworks and initiatives to become compliant. There is an increasing acceptance that if they want to achieve their emissions reduction targets, they need to take action to mitigate their leaks and manage their component inventories better. At Score, we’re well-positioned to support this by leveraging our expertise and strengths in valve leak detection and mitigation. Remember, valves are responsible for 75% of all fugitive emissions and we are the experts.
Looking ahead, as we continue to transition towards green energy, our customers will be required to repurpose existing infrastructure, install new infrastructure, and continue to manage their emissions footprint. We have a track record for innovation and collaboration at Score. We have a strong reputation for providing solutions to complex challenges to ensure our customers are maximising their operations. I believe we are global leaders in emissions management, and we will continue to grow and adapt to the ever-changing needs of the industries we operate in.
What differentiates Score?
We engineer the problem out. Many companies can identify issues, but we have the expertise to fix them. Valves are the lifeblood of any facility, and our knowledge and understanding span more than 40 years. This gives us the authority to say that we are the emissions experts. Our end-to-end solutions ensure that we don’t just detect emissions—we eliminate them.
What excites you about working for Score?
I like the creative part of my job, being able to develop new service lines and test new ideas. This is something I really care about. Building our emissions elimination solution from the ground up has been both rewarding and challenging, but it’s just the start. I am part of a team that is driving global change, both for us as a company and for our customers. This motivates me and I am proud to be part of the Score team.
