Score Strengthens UK Water Sector Position with Three New Framework Wins

Score has recently secured three new framework agreements with UK water companies Yorkshire Water, Severn Trent Water and United Utilities, for the service, repair and overhaul of actuators and valves across the water and wastewater sector.

The agreements will see Score provide specialist maintenance, refurbishment and repair services for both current and legacy valve and actuator products, keeping critical flow control assets safe and dependable across each utility’s network.

The awards come as water companies across the UK continue to invest in network resilience, environmental performance and operational efficiency, particularly as the sector progresses through the AMP8 investment period. AMP8 (Asset Management Period 8) runs from April 2025 to March 2030 as a five-year regulatory investment cycle for the water industry in England and Wales. Overseen by the economic regulator Ofwat, this cycle dictates operational standards, performance targets, and customer price limits.

With increased emphasis on asset health and reducing unplanned outages, utilities are placing greater value on proactive maintenance and engineered service support to manage critical infrastructure.

Why Score is winning this work

As the UK’s largest independent stockist of actuators, Score offers customers an alternative to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) support – with the flexibility to service and repair both current and legacy products, fast response times, and genuine OEM parts held in stock.

Score can maintain, repair and extend the life of legacy assets, providing continuity of support as OEM product ranges evolve and helping utilities avoid unnecessary replacement costs and reduce plant downtime. Score also supports sustainability across the sector, recycling and testing legacy actuators removed from site rather than disposing of them, and reconditioning parts such as seals, O-rings and bearings for future use.

This approach helps Score comply with the Circular Economy Act, reducing waste and making the most of existing assets.

Score’s independence means it can supply and service complete valve and actuator assemblies, rather than being limited to one part of the asset. This gives customers a single, engineered point of contact for diagnosing and resolving issues across the whole flow control package.

This growing portfolio of work is supported by Score’s dedicated service facilities, each equipped with a fleet of service vehicles, specialist technicians, stocked actuators and spares, torque test rigs, and emergency call-out support for evenings and weekends.

“We’re seeing strong momentum across the UK water sector, and these framework wins show the value we bring as an independent, service-focused partner,” said Ian Elliott, Actuation Project Services Manager at Score. “Our ability to support both the latest and legacy products, combined with a fast, flexible response, means we can help our customers maximise asset performance, extend the life of critical equipment, and keep essential infrastructure running reliably.”

This work across the UK water sector adds to Score’s existing framework and service level agreements with utilities in England and Wales, reinforcing its position as a trusted engineered solutions partner in the sector.

Our advanced and specialist testing procedures and facilities ensure that all parts we overhaul and repair meet our exceedingly high level of quality.
